While most of us agree that there is no price big enough to pay for the companionship and unconditional love that our pets provide, we will also agree that pet care can sometimes be pretty heavy on the wallet. On average, it costs Americans $ 1500.00 a year to care for a cat and almost $ 2000.00 to care for a dog. Pet health care is that expensive that we need to think of ways to stretch our pet care budget without sacrificing the health of our pets.

One tip that I could give is regarding trying to save money on pet food. Do not try to save money on pet food and instead buy the highest quality pet food available at your veterinarian or at least shop at pet food stores. Never ever buy generic pet food at the supermarket, since it often lacks nutritional value and is full of fillers and byproducts that can cause a myriad of diseases such as diabetes, digestive tract problems and urinary tract infections. The savings you will get from saving on food might be overshadowed by the medical expenses that you might have to pay if your pets get sick.

Dogs are inherently active animals. When they start to slow down, we attribute it to his getting on in years. That could be possible but it could also be that he is suffering from degenerative diseases of the joint. If you see signs such as reluctance to walk, climb stairs or play; if he limps and has difficulty rising from a resting position, he might be suffering from degenerative joint disease. Relief can be achieved with painkillers, exercise, rest and diet.

This condition can be prevented with the use of some supplements that will help keep a pet’s bone structure healthy and strong. Trixsyn is a safe and effective oral form of hyaluronan, a supplement for the promotion of joint health and mobility in dogs and cats. It is available in different concentrations to provide just the right amount based on the pet’s weight. It improves joint mobility by alleviating pain and reducing inflammation. It also promotes the repair, maintenance and protection of cartilage and joint tissues.
