We are all aware that dogs need exercise as well as proper nutrition to be strong and healthy. Poor nutrition can lead to health problems which manifest in lethargy, listlessness and skin problems. These are warning signs that indicate a more serious condition. Probably, a second look at their diet is in order. A better understanding of dog food nutrition facts should be useful.
Just like people, dogs require proper nutritional balance to maintain normal metabolism and fight disease. Carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals are the components of a well balanced dog food. The amounts required will vary according to the dog’s need. As dogs age, their metabolism slows down and their caloric need decreases. At the same time, the activity level gradually declines reducing his nutrition needs.
